Below are trusted national and NYC-based resources that offer connection, education, and additional support outside of therapy.


Perinatal & Postpartum Support

Postpartum Support International (PSI)

Offering support for postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, birth trauma, and other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). PSI provides online support groups, a helpline, and resources for parents and partners.

Mental Health Education & Advocacy

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

Provides peer-led support groups, educational materials, and a national helpline for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges.

LGBTQ+ & BIPOC-Affirming Mental Health Resources (NYC)

NYC Well

Free, 24/7, confidential mental health support via call, text, or chat. Services include crisis counseling, peer support, and resource referrals in over 200 languages.

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center

Offers affirming medical and mental health care to LGBTQ+ New Yorkers regardless of ability to pay. Services include therapy, gender-affirming care, support groups, and STI/HIV testing.

The Center NYC (LGBT Community Center)

A welcoming hub for LGBTQ+ individuals offering counseling, substance use support, youth services, family programming, and affirming community events.

Hetrick-Martin Institue (HMI)

Serving LGBTQ+ youth (ages 13–24), especially those from BIPOC and underserved backgrounds. HMI provides free mental health care, case management, and educational support.

A national leader in LGBTQ+ elder care and advocacy. Services include case management, mental health support, housing assistance, and community programming for LGBTQ+ older adults.
